We look forward to welcoming you to our accommodation.

The new academic year is fast approaching! Arrival times are spread over five days, Wednesday 17th September to Sunday 21st September. This is to help manage everyone arriving, easy traffic and ensure your moving in process is as stress free as possible!

Once you have accepted your room offer and completed your online Residences induction, you will be able to book an arrival slot. The booking system will be open from 2nd - 14th September. 

You will be able to book a late arrival slot to arrive between Monday 22nd - Friday 26th September. Requests to arrive after the 26th September will be considered on an individual basis so make sure to email residences@cardiff.ac.uk to enquire about this.

When?

You should arrive within your pre-booked slot. Slots will be available within the following times: Wednesday 17th - Saturday 20th: 10am to 5pm and Sunday 21st: 10am - 1pm.

Where?

Talybont Social Centre at Talybont North. Use postcode CF14 3AT for satnav direction. 



Where can I park?

On arrival at Talybont North you will be directed to temporary car parking whilst you collect your key from Talybont Social Centre, this is restricted to one car per student. You will then be directed to further temporary parking facilities on site for unloading.


You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, the nearest Pay & Display car park is on North Road - approximately 20 minute walk away.

Talybont Court Reception at Talybont South. Use postcode CF14 3UA for satnav direction. 

Where can I park?

On arrival at Talybont Court you will be directed to temporary car parking whilst you collect your key from Reception, this is restricted to one car per student. You will then be directed to further temporary parking facilities on site for unloading.


You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, the nearest Pay & Display car park is on North Road - approximately 20 minute walk away.

The Social Lounge at University Hall. Use postcode CF23 5YB for satnav direction. 



Where can I park?

On arrival at University Hall, please collect your key from the Social Lounge. You will then be directed to further temporary parking facilities on site for unloading, this is restricted to one car per student.


You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, on street parking is available in the local residential area. Please check parking signs for restrictions.

Aberdare Hall Reception on Corbett Road. Use postcode CF10 3UP for satnav direction.

Where can I park?

  • Hodge HallParking is available on site and is restricted to one car per student. You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, the nearest Pay & Display car park is on North Road.
  • Aberconway Hall, Aberdare Hall, Colum Hall and Student Houses (Colum Rd/Place) Unfortunately, there are no University parking spaces available. There is restricted on street parking which is patrolled frequently by traffic wardens so please unload as quickly as possible and ensure someone stays with the vehicle at all times whilst unloading. Please note there is no parking permitted in Queen Anne Square. After unloading, the nearest Pay & Display car park is on North Road.

Cartwright Court Reception on Daviot Street. Use postcode CF24 4SS for satnav direction.

Where can I park?

Parking is available on site for unloading at both Cartwright Court and Roy Jenkins, this is restricted to one car per student.


You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, on street parking is available in the local residential area. Please check parking signs for restrictions.

Senghennydd Court Reception on Salisbury Road. Use postcode CF24 4DS for satnav direction.

Where can I park?

On arrival at Senghennydd Court you will be directed to temporary car parking whilst you collect your key from Reception, this is restricted to one car per student.


  • Senghennydd Court, Hall and Gordon Hall - You will be directed to further temporary parking facilities on site.  You will receive a permit to display on your windscreen via email but there will also be more available on the day. Unfortunately, we can only allow 45 minutes to unload your vehicle due to parking restrictions and the volume of people arriving. After unloading, parking is available at the public multi-storey car park in Dumfries Place.
  • Student Village Houses - Unfortunately, there are no University parking spaces available. There is restricted on street parking which is patrolled frequently by traffic wardens so please unload as quickly as possible and ensure someone stays with the vehicle at all times whilst unloading. After unloading, parking is available at the public multi-storey car park in Dumfries Place.



If you are arriving by public transport:

If you are arriving at Cardiff Central railway station or by bus:

Taxi – Taxis are easily available from the taxi rank, which is located outside the Cardiff Central railway station, if you arrive by bus and can’t locate a taxi, the number for a local taxi company is 02920 333 333. These will cost about £10 depending on the distance and how much luggage you are carrying.

Bus – There are several bus routes that run from Cardiff city centre and stop near residences. For further information and timetables, please visit the following web page: http://www.cardiffbus.com/  

You must collect your key by 5pm on the first day of your contract, otherwise your allocated residence will be withdrawn and the room offered to another student.
