The Residence Life Partnership and Marketing Intern will maintain and expand the Residence Life Team’s external partnership network to ensure incoming students for the 26/27 academic year will have access to freebies, offers, and opportunities to explore the local businesses of our diverse and local Cardiff community. The successful candidate will be required to liaise and negotiate with external companies on behalf of the Residence Life Team to generate support and knowledge of the service and to plan events for Arrivals and Fresher’s Weeks that showcase local vendors, represent the Cardiff student experience, and demonstrates the student-led Res Life community. The successful candidate will also work with the Residence Life Team to develop essential digital media content, playing a vital role in implementing and advertising the Residence Life Team’s event programme.
Specific duties/tasks include, but are not limited, to:
- Identify and source partnership opportunities that align to Residence Life Team aims and values.
- Research partners, identify key players and generate interest.
- Contact, liaise, negotiate and finalise deals with said partners, with Residence Life staff support and guidance.
- Ensure partners values and experience are in line with Residence Life values.
- Maintain and develop an ongoing relationship with current and new partners.
- Evaluate and coordinate the support from these partners for Residence Life events.
- Develop and create media/video content in line with the Residence Life Team’s objectives.
General Duties:
- Liaise with other services and partners to ensure consistent messaging.
- Familiarise oneself with all Residence Life events and activities.
- Work with Residence Life Assistants and volunteers to ensure outcomes are achieved.

Essential Information
Place of work – Res Life Office
Full address of placement – Talybont Social Centre, Bevan Place, Cardiff, CF14 3UX
Hours per week – 12-15, but flexible
Duration/total hours – 70 hours, flexible between June-August 2026
Hourly rate - £13.45
Eligibility Criteria
● You are not eligible to apply for an on-campus internship if you have undertaken one in previous years.
● You can only take part in one On Campus Internship a year even if they are in different strands.
● Professional services on-campus internships are open to all current students.
● You can apply to a maximum of 5 internships within the scheme.
