The process of coming out can be different for everyone, make sure to have a look at what support and resources are available to help you in doing so!
Support for students
You can learn more about all of the support on offer for students on the intranet.
LGBTQ+ Wellbeing Champions are students who are LGBTQ+, who have undergone health and wellbeing training to provide peer support to other LGBTQ+ students through a range of different activities.
They host coffee lounges every fortnight, run LGBTQ+ themed events and help facilitate a Gender Diverse Space for students.
We have a dedicated team of Trans Support Advisers who are available to offer support meetings to any student who would like support relating to transitioning at University or students who are questioning and would like to find out about the practical support available.
To request a meeting with a Trans Support Adviser, please complete our online Request for Trans Support form.
The Gathering is an inclusive LGBTQ+ Christian Church for all and a safe place for the LGBTQ+ Community to explore the Christian Faith. To find out more visit The Gathering’s Facebook page.
One-to-one support is also available from the university's LGBTQ+ Chaplain for students wishing to explore spirituality.
