My experience of Cartwright Court

Posted 3 years ago

and your useful guide!

Cartwright Court is a hall of residence that is located between Roath and Cathays, which is a big student area. It is a small and quiet site, with around 170 students, but this means that you know almost everyone and your flatmates well! There are various room options you can choose from, including houses and flats with shared kitchens and bathrooms.

The best part of living in Cartwright Court is that we have a much bigger room compared with other sites, and there is lots of storage space in your room, too! As all of the rooms are shared bathrooms and kitchens, you might need to think of having a cleaning rota with your flatmates to keep your flat/ house clean!

Although Cartwright Court is a bit far away from both the Cathays Park campus and Heath Park campus, there is a NextBike station right outside on Daviot Street, meaning that you can cycle to university. It is also within 10 minutes walking distance to a good local shopping area on Albany Road. You can find Tesco Express, Iceland, Home Bargains and Sainsbury local, which is very convenient! Heading down to Crwys road, City Road or Woodville Road, there are many restaurants and cafés that are worth exploring! You can find Chinese, Greek, Italian or American cuisine that is affordable and tasty!

Cartwright Court is also close to Roath Park, which is one of Cardiff’s nicest parks, consists of a wide range of habitats, trees and birds. I used to always go there for a walk when I was done with all my lectures! There is even an old telephone box that has been transformed into a tiny library by the Roath Pleasure Garden, where you can exchange books and take a book when you visit!

If you're staying at Cartwright Court this year, I hope you have an amazing experience!
